Are you ready for Team Branch!!!
Our returning venue from our kickoff tour in 2015 was the Branch Museum of Architecture and Design and like their repeat presence in the tour, their team was also voted our People's Choice Award for the second time. We like a little friendly competition in the industry and while the feedback on all three venues has been Amazing, it's always fun to see who gets the final attendees' vote. And it won't be hard to see why as Don Mears Photography unfolds the gorgeous design details of his talented team coordinated by LK Events & Design.
With three very distinct venues showcased in the tour, the Branch House was our historic and traditional wedding venue boasting it's "refined interior spaces and elegant garden which can easily be transformed to accommodate a variety of events from sophisticated cocktail parties and weddings to intimate bridal luncheons and even day-long corporate retreats."
LK Events & Design, spearheaded by experienced wedding planners Lindsay Averette Kennedy and Windy Jennings, warmed up the majestic and stone castle feel with their whimsical and organic vibe by looking for ways to create a beautiful contrast between the structural Branch and the often popular natural, soft and flowing aesthetics of a wedding day. A perfect example was right in the soft, textured linens from Classic Party Rentals. LK's color inspiration and mood board invited us in with elegance and sophistication weaving throughout the masculine landscapes of the venue.
We found the marriage between the soft floral touches of The Proper Petal and the structural accent pieces of Paisley and Jade to be breathtaking throughout the reception seating and cake displays. A couple planning their wedding at the Branch Museum could also draw inspiration from the unique bay window that faces the courtyard where Pearl's wedding cake, macarons, and cake pops were proudly on display. You'll find Pearl's churning out all three of these dessert types at their Libbie and Grove location as well as their newest hotspot in Charlottesville!
Participating in the tour for the first time this year was The Proper Petal and their contribution was critical to the design execution. Combining deep rich hues and greenery, this floral duo design team hit the nail right on the head.
To up the ante from last year's tour, return vendor and specialty rental company Paisley & Jade offered a contest to guests: find a specific rental item from their collection at each stop and share on social media using the hashtag #ispypandj for a chance to win rentals for their upcoming wedding!
At the Branch Museum, this item was the Lodge Bar - a seven foot long handcrafted wooden bar that is one of the most popular in the P&J collection. Morgan, co-owner of Paisley & Jade added, "Thanks to LK Events & Design, the lodge bar was reimagined and utilized in a new and unique fashion by placing two of the bars in a “V” shape, to provide an unexpected and intriguing visual!"
Back again for Team Branch was EastCoast Entertainment with members of their live band The Shack Band! Imagine your own wedding reception experience infused with the sounds of "funky rock ‘n’ roll and soaring harmonies" as this band not only brings character to your scene but high energy! Another source of fun was the photobooth area hosted by Richmond Photobooth LLC!
When you're crashing a wedding, it wouldn't be complete without the food and Brian Thompson of I.K. Catering left our mouths watering with three different cuisine samples. At Team Branch you might have tasted the seared scallop over wilted spinach topped with crispy pancetta and a lemon beurre blanc sauce or the mini bahn-mi sandwich with braised chicken and the bucatini pasta twirl with sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, broccolini, or even a white wine cream sauce while crashing with us. As an experienced off site caterer, I.K. Catering is on the move to accommodate your wedding on location bringing the highest level of passion and enthusiasm for his craft!
And can we chat about Page Stationery for a minute! Taking the color scheme to heart and splashing in some whimsical and architectural themed graphics, Page Stationery gave attendees something else to "Ooo and Ahh" over. How amazing are these rich, illustrative menu cards to highlight the delicacies of I.K. Catering and desserts of Pearl's!
We could not be in love more with the gorgeous captures of Don Mears Photography. If you missed him on the Tour or are tuning in now to the Wedding Crasher's Tour recap, you'll want to feast your eyes on his other work featured in Virginia Living Magazine, Richmond Bride Magazine and The Knot Magazine to name a few. He was recently voted as an A-Lister for the wedding industry and it was a joy to have him return this year.
Congrats to Team Branch on not just a thoughtful and unique design but bringing this Pinterest Perfect vision to life for our attendees! Over the weeks to come we will be featuring specific design details, vendors and aspects from this team so be sure to follow us here and on instagram at @theweddingcrasherstour.
Back on the Winn bus for us, we're heading to Team Quirk next!
