Welcome to the Quirk Hotel!
Come on in and join us on this quirky Wes Anderson inspired adventure designed and coordinated by Fete Weddings and captured by Jessica Maida Photography. Fete Weddings is no stranger to pops of color, eclectic taste and the details - details - details. And with just a couple block's walk they are actually already pretty friendly neighbors with the Quirk Hotel!
The Quirk Hotel is brand new to the wedding scene as of 2015 but still boasts the versatility between a rehearsal dinner hot spot with chic lodging capabilities to weddings perfect for the smaller and more intimate guest count or rent out the entire restaurant for larger affairs.
Given the existing venue design, incorporating modern design elements and pops of mustards, pinks and deep greens felt very organic. 'ello Paper created a fun pink stationery suite with unique road map directions reminiscent of Anderson's own map and blueprint themes. Accenting the seating and menu cards we had The Green Flamingo infusing lush blooms and brights into the scene proving that a modern and minimalist tablescape approach can still pack a punch!
As a custom bakery in Manchester, Sweet Fix provided 3 stylized cakes for the theme and a personalized macaron dessert table. On the inspiration and direction for her designs Owner Amanda Robinson explained, "when a loose Wes Anderson theme was the decided inspiration for our location, and that our cakes would be featured in the Quirk Gallery along with paintings by Bill Fisher, it really got my gears turning. The bright, bold color pallet and iconic quirky and retro patterns seen in these films inspired a very non-traditional wedding cake trio and dessert spread. I pulled from wallpaper, vintage upholstery, type faces & blueprints to merge very unconventional design elements into single cakes. Our sliced cakes and French Macarons complimented our cake designs through hand painted elements."
From the gallery it was then hard to miss the towering tent structure. Continuing with the #ispypandj game, specialty rental vendor Paisley & Jade used the backdrop of the hotel courtyard to feature their brand new canvas tent as the item to be “found!"
Co-owner Morgan Montgomery highlighted, "The Wedding Crasher's Tour was the grand unveiling of this amazing new piece, which is the first of it’s kind available in the Richmond market, and can be used for lounges, bars and other unique event spaces! At 9’ tall and 15’ in diameter, the canvas tent housed a large lounge area that was the perfect spot for tour guests to cozy up with a cocktail!
Fete Weddings brought their vision of a “glam tent” to life, utilizing other items from the P&J collection including geometric end tables and plush soft seating to dress up the space and topped off with gorgeous garlands from the Green Flamingo."
And in the spirit of a real wedding day, Team Quirk gave their tour groups a send off of popcorn favors and a puff ball confetti exit!
Once again we were thrilled to see these captures by Jessica Maida Photography.
